Rum Swizzle cocktail is a rum-based tiki drink. It is often called “Bermuda’s national drink”. Rum Swizzle is a blend of orange juice, pineapple juice, lemons, Angostura Bitters, gold rum and black rum. Rum Swizzle has been a trendy drink for a long time and its origins go back to the mid 18th century. In its earliest version Rum Swizzle consisted of one part of rum and five parts water.

Rum Swizzle has also been widely mentioned in literature, and it was among the drinks served at world’s first cocktail party held in London in 1924, hosted by novelist Alec Waugh.

Rum Swizzle Cocktail Ingredients

30 ml gold rum

30 ml black rum

20 ml Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice

20 ml Orange Juice

20 ml Pineapple Juice

Dash of Angostura bitters

Rum Swizzle Cocktail Preparation

1) Pour black rum and gold rum into a pitcher 1/3 full of crushed ice.

2) Add pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice and Angostura bitters.

3) Mix in a cocktail shaker or churn vigorously until a frothing appears.

4) Strain into a martini glass.
