Bloody Mary Cocktail

Harry’s New York Bar in France was created in 1911 and it has been an important location for the cocktail culture. There was an alcohol ban in USA around 1920-1933, so Harry’s New York Bar would be a go to place for people who missed drinking. Fernand Petoit, who was a bartender in Harry’s Bar around 1920s. Fernand was the founder of Blood Mary cocktail and he prepared this special cocktail in 1921. Bartender Petoit did not like the Russian vodka taste, so he added tomato juice in equal amount and it resulted in Blood Mary cocktail.


20oz Vodka
3oz Tomato Juice 
1-2 drops Tabasco 
1-2 drops Worcestershire Sauce
Small amount of lemon juice 


Hurricane glass is your best choice when making a Bloody Mary cocktail. Fill the hurricane glass with couple ice cubes, Tabasco, Worcestershire Sauce, Lemon Juice, Salt and Black pepper. Mix them for a while. Add vodka along with tomato juice and mix it good. After you shake it good enough, place the fresh celery on top of your Blood Mary cocktail.
